Like many of Taurus guns the 605 comes with the key-operated Taurus Security System built in to the frame of the firearm.

Great pistol for the price. Very close to the Smith J frames but less than 1/2 the price. I wouldn’t suggest shooting full magnums all the time (very hard on the hands) but full capable of doing so. +P isn’t too bad and When found during these ammo shortages I shoot mostly just 38 special and a few +P loads. I did change out the Hogue style rubber grips for some nice Cocobolo style grips and it increased the curb appeal greatly, but also increased the felt recoil somewhat as a FYI. Great value for a good price, no issues for over 2 years usage.
